We all listen to this in our life that we have to live in a society and hence we have to do certain things in a certain way.
According to me, the very idea of society is flawed. People just want social proof of whatever they do so they feel right and hence people flock together to create the so-called society. Since the starting of civilizations, the idea of societies has been proved wrong. Right from societies in civilizations live Mohenjo-Daro to Egyptians. It creates unnecessary differentiations.
People claims that societies and its norms are needed to control the chaos and hence whatever they do is justified. But when you go ahead and ask them the reasons for certain things you are bogged down heavily on the pretext of inexperience and the lack of knowledge.
The idea of society also has changed from time to time according to the needs of people or rather we should say whatever people at the top were comfortable with, the societies evolved in that direction. But today can we say that we have a single governing body in the societies? Many people have developed their own norms and found out followers either by chance or by force. This has created so high fragmentation in the society that we will soon need an aggregator to bring structure to this fragmented market.
The very idea of societies when they were created were equality, living peacefully, learning together, helping each other, living in harmony etc. Do we see any of these traits in present societies that exists? Maybe yes maybe no but what I can be sure about is the politicization of everything has ruined the very essence of life. We in today’s time only want to survive and save ourselves and don’t care about what happens to the people around us.
Now please replace the word societies with religion and read the article again.

The mixture of societies or the way of life and religion has created all kinds of confusion in life that we don’t really know what is right and wrong or what to believe or not.
