Personal productivity has been a long-debated topic, and every individual has their way of being productive. For example, some people like to start their day early as morning calm gets them going; some work late in the night as silence gets them going. Personally, for me, some things have done wonders.
Start of the day
I start my day early and then do a 20-20-20 ritual. It means I do the following things for 20 minutes each making it the first and the most crucial hour of the day.
- 20 mins exercise. I generally end up extending it most of the time. But, the idea is to get you moving and gain energy.
- Next 20 mins, plan your day and review goals. Here, I just put down the things to do for the day personally and professionally. I have my diary for it, which I cannot edit once I commit, keeping me accountable.
- next 20 mins, I do tasks that I am running behind on. This means the impact doesn’t matter. I am just striking off few tasks quickly to start the day.
This has worked wonders for me.
Leave Sugar
I wrote about this in one of my previous blogs. You can read my experience of leaving sugar here.
This has been one of the better decisions of my life. Not having sugar made me more alert, healthy and increased my productivity to the next level.
My Morning Rituals
I have always thought of creating rituals with atomic habits. Building rituals give meaning to one’s life. You don’t have to look up to someone and copy them. Just follow your instinct and create your rituals. I wrote some time back about Mastering the morning rituals that helped me. Would you please read it and leave your thoughts?
Power Naps
One of the best productivity hacks I was able to acquire was power naps. They are hard to master, but you can make sure that you never have a dull day once you do. You sleep the heck out of it. I wrote about the art of power naps here. You can read it to see if this is something you would want to acquire.
Waste time
Yes, you read it right. One of the most exciting epiphanies I had was this. You need to waste time to be more productive. I wrote about the importance of wasting time here. Read on to know more about my perspective.
I hope these things give you some exciting ideas to increase your productivity.
Do share your hacks and stories; I would love to try them.
